Belinda McPherson
- Naturopath

Belinda grew up in Wangaratta and Myrtleford and now resides in Whorouly where community and wellbeing are very much a part of her everyday life. Rural living and her passion for Naturopathy has allowed Belinda and her family to live life in moderation striving for health through a balance of diet and lifestyle. Belinda enjoys the outdoors with her family on their beef farm, motorbike racing with her children and being active in her community and friendship groups.

A passionate advocate for education, Belinda shares her extensive knowledge & insight through written articles, which can be found in the Regional Extra on a weekly basis. In addition to her column Belinda regularly contributes to local school newsletters and enjoys hosting workshops on a variety of topics from stress, hormones, sleep, food choices and digestive health to name a few.

Belinda studied at the Southern Schools of Natural Therapies, Melbourne where she successfully completed her Bachelor of Health Science, Naturopathy 2012.

“Studying at a mature age with small children taught me great stress management techniques, and how to get the best nutrients into my kids without too much time in the kitchen. Having access to my own guinea pigs (teenage and toddler boys) has given me an opportunity to explore home remedies, combining different herbs/nutrients for their own growth and development. This has also provided me with some tips and tricks to sneak remedies and food into the fussiest of children" "Being a mum and a Naturopath has taught me to know, when not to sweat the small stuff and when something just isn't "right" here. It has also taught me to be fluent in boy grunt and teenage slang, a valuable tool that not many practitioners have!"

Prior to completing her studies Belinda worked in the Allied health industry for 11 years, where she has developed a passion and knowledge for Massage and Natural therapies. She was lucky enough to work within some well renowned clinics in the region and has developed a great referral network to help her clients to achieve a "health team". I find that when a client has a health team in their corner, they have the confidence to make well informed decisions about their health and move forward with a clear plan, direction and support."

Belinda enjoys working with clients from all stages of life from preconception, pregnancy, childhood through to menopause and healthy aging.  “Working together with clients allows us to achieve the highest level of health and wellbeing for the individual at a pace that is comfortable and achievable for them.” Belinda believes that Naturopathy allows you to discover the cause of the disease or complaint and re correct it with lifestyle, diet and appropriate supplementation allowing the individual to achieve optimum health.

Belinda's moto is "Eat a balanced diet Monday - Friday, and in the absence of disease then enjoy the finer things in life on the weekend.... in moderation!"
